About Graeme
I have been a practicing psychotherapist in Contra Costa County since 1996, integrating psychodynamic principles, developmental research, 12-step philosophy. I have worked extensively with individuals, including teens, families, couples, and also groups, serving Central County, including cities Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, and Concord. My professional background includes work in outpatient and inpatient settings, hospitals, group homes, and private practice: addressing problems of addiction, relationship issues, depression and anxiety. I am currently the associate director of the Impulse Treatment Center in Walnut Creek, which specializes in Group therapy, Couples Therapy, problems related to sexual addiction. I have enjoyed a rich and thriving career in each of these settings, and I truly love my work. I believe the therapeutic relationship provides a framework for insight, warmth, emotional depth, and self-discovery. Many of my clients have found that in re-discovering their real selves, they have released capacities for spontaneity, intimacy, and creativity in their lives. I have discovered this in my own life, particularly with respect to my creative writing, which readers can access through this site. Don’t you hunger for being seen for who you truly are, and for being treated accordingly? If you’re isolating in addictive or other destructive patterns, or else merely withdrawn into a secret, yet paradoxically safe existence, give me a call. I can help.
